Ganesh Chathurthi, or Vinayaka Chathurthi as is popularly called, is the birthday of Lord Ganesha. It falls in the month of August or September and is celebrated with a lot of joy and enthusiasm all over India.

The idol is worshipped for ten days with daily prayers and is immersed in the nearby lake or pond on the tenth day.
